While the the pilots and aircrew were busy in the Pacific, the 11th Airborne Division has been dropped in Don Steppe, Soviet Union. Where they were involved in numerous engagements, suppressed down by large volume artillery they managed to keep pushing. Heavy casualties were taken throughout, clearing any pockets of Soviet defenses and counter offensive. The paratroopers then proceeded to holding out a small village grinding the Soviet manpower, while still taking significant casualties, leaving only 3-4 paratroopers left to defend the city against an unknown amount of Soviets. After some firefights, the Soviet offensive halted.
