Airborne Raid on a Pacific Island
On June 22nd at 5:30 PM Eastern Time, paratroopers of the 11th Airborne Division were flown by the 41st Troop Carrier Squadron and dropped near a Japanese radar station on a Pacific island. The low-altitude drop attracted heavy small arms fire, but the planes remained unscathed, and the paratroopers were able to jump and land with only minor injuries.
As the Japanese forces retreated to the radar station, the 11th Airborne reinforcements arrived by sea, catching the Japanese by surprise. They cleared the area and secured the radar station. With the immediate vicinity secured, the paratroopers advanced across the river, eliminating nearby Japanese resistance. However, a Japanese counterattack soon revealed that the paratroopers were overextended, prompting an order to retreat to the radar station.
Throughout the night, grenades were thrown in all directions as the medic worked tirelessly to tend to the wounded. Japanese snipers attempted to pick off anyone who dared to peek over the trenches to return fire. The raid concluded with a narrow score of 100-99, resulting in a victory for the Japanese.

Raid on New Guinea
On June 16th at 5:00 PM Eastern Time, a B-17E from the 43rd Bombardment Group was dispatched to bomb a Japanese-controlled airfield. Following the B-17, at a much lower altitude, was a C-47 from the 41st Troop Carrier Squadron, carrying paratroopers from the 11th Airborne Division, tasked with raiding a small village. The mission was escorted by a P-40F from the 8th Fighter Group.
Initially, there was no enemy contact. However, as they neared the island, a Japanese Zero appeared to intercept them. The 11th Airborne personnel were safely dropped onto the village as the B-17 drew the Zero's attention. The escorting P-40F successfully shot down the Zero, while another Zero attempted to take down the B-17. Despite sustaining damage, the B-17's gunners managed to shoot down the attacking Zero.
With clear skies, the P-40F began its close air support mission as ordered by the paratroopers, providing crucial assistance in taking the village.
Casualties and Losses:
2 Zeros
B-17 Damaged

Bombing and Casualty Evacuation Over New Guinea
On June 9th at 5:22 PM Eastern Time, two B-17E bombers were sent to bomb a Japanese-controlled city in New Guinea. This mission was accompanied by a C-47 from the 41st Troop Carrier Squadron, tasked with evacuating a downed pilot from an earlier mission.
As the formation approached the island, a lone Zero intercepted but was quickly chased down and shot down by an escorting P-40. Nearing the island, another Zero attacked the formation, managing to land severe hits on the lead B-17 before it was shot down.
Despite the damage, the two bombers successfully landed direct hits on the city. Meanwhile, the C-47 landed in a designated clearing on the island, where the downed pilot was waiting for rescue. Remarkably, all planes were able to make it back to base safely, completing the mission successfully.
Casualties and Losses:
2 Zeros

Bombing of Japanese Controlled Village
On May 25th at 5:00 PM Eastern Time, the 43rd Bombardment Group was assigned to bomb a village controlled by the Imperial Japanese Army. Following the previous bombing of the Japanese airfield, there was minimal Japanese resistance. One P-40F and two P-38s of the 8th Fighter Group were designated to escort the B-17.
During the flight, a Zero was spotted at 12 o'clock high of the bomber. An escorting P-38 increased its speed, chased the lone Zero, and shot it down. Upon nearing the target, a Zero at a much lower altitude began its climb to reach the formation. A P-38 went to intercept but faced some difficulty. Seeing this, another P-38 broke off from the formation to assist. The Zero ignored the presence of the two P-38s and went straight for the bomber. The B-17, now alone, began flying defensively to give its gunners a better shot. After a fight, the Zero was finally shot down.
Over the target, the B-17 dropped its bombs and began its flight home. Friendly fighters engaged in a skirmish with the Zeros in the area of operation. A P-40F managed to drop two of its bombs over the Japanese airfield to prevent any more planes from taking off.
Casualties and Losses:
5 Zeros
Debrief:
Good escort by fighters
Improved teamwork by fighters
Gunners need to stop randomly shooting (the new gunners)

Combined Arms Training Exercise
At 8 PM Eastern time, the 11th Airborne was tasked with capturing objectives A, B, and C on the island of Corregidor. Pathfinders were dispatched first to locate a safe drop zone for the 511th Parachute Infantry Regiment. Air superiority was in favor of the USAAF, and the advance of friendly ground forces proceeded smoothly. Enemy anti-aircraft fire was relentless, but the 41st Trooper Carrier pilots and 8th Fighter Group managed to evade. 8th Fighter Group was unable to precisely bomb the battery, they were able to get the anti-aircraft gunners to flee for scene.
The paratroopers were able to capture objective A with overwhelming use of grenades, until a Zero approached the area of operation. A P-38 was lost to its surprise attack. The Zero chased a P-40F while also being followed by another P-40F. As the P-40F that the Zero was chasing crashed (controls locked), it turned its attention to the P-40F that was pursuing it. Knowing it was a losing fight due to its energy disadvantage, the P-40F circled the captured objective, allowing the paratroopers on the ground to man the AA guns and shoot down the Zero. Another Zero at a higher altitude swooped down on a P-38. While evading the Zero, a P-40F came to support. As the chase continued, the two planes collided (the server froze and caused the collision).
With close air support ramping up, the paratroopers' advance to the final objective was made easier.
Casualties and Losses:
C-47 Destroyed
4 Zeros
2 P-40F Destroyed
2 P-38 Destroyed
Debrief:
Good job 41st and 8th for evading AA
11th needs to be more active in calling CAS to limit casualties
8th needs to work on teamwork in a 2v1 (friendly advantage)

Combat Exercise with Republic of China Air Force
A training exercise was conducted at 5 PM Eastern Time. In this exercise, the United States Army Air Forces were tasked with a mock nighttime bombing of an island guarded by the Chinese Air Force. Three B-17Es were assigned to this mission, escorted by 3 P-38 Lightnings and 4 P-40F Warhawks. Going against a numerically superior enemy, the 8th Fighter Group had to extend themselves to defend the bombers. Wave after wave, the Chinese Air Force took heavy casualties but managed to take down one of the three B-17s. Upon reaching the island, the bombs were dropped, and the Chinese regrouped to chase the Army Air Forces back home. The tail gunner of 'Listen Here Tojo,' a B-17, panicked and started shooting at a friendly P-40, thinking it was the enemy. The second B-17, 'Miss Carriage,' was lost and broke out of formation, and was swarmed by two enemies. As three P-40s rushed to rescue the lone bomber, its gunner was able to take down both enemy planes with the help of the pilot's maneuver to line up the shot. As the bombers landed, the last remaining Chinese fighters gave all that they had, losing all their fighters but taking down a P-40 and a P-38 in the process.
Casualties and Losses:

Combined Arms Training Exercise
At 5 PM Eastern, a combined arms training operation was conducted. The goal was to improve upon communication skills between the 3 units. Pathfinder's C-47 was shot down after its escorting P-38 disappeared (he went afk). Fortunately all Pathfinders has already jumped and the pilot bailed safely. A B-17 was attacked by two Zeros, taking heavy damage before a P-40 chased away one of the Zeros, the B-17E had already taken too much damage, allowing the last Zero finish off the bomber. A crewman was able to parachute out safely, only to be gunned down by Airborne personnel in a friendly fire incident. Airborne personnel were able to capture the hill. 1 enemy garrison came out of the ruins to surrender, an airborne personnel stood by his side, but the enemy soldier pulled out a grenade killing them both.

Combined Arms Raid
At 7 PM Eastern Time, the United States Army Air Forces conducted a combined arms operation on a Pacific island. The operation began with Fighter Command establishing air superiority in the area of operations. There was little to no resistance in the air, allowing Bomber Command to send B-17s to bombard the objective, softening the area for the Airborne Command. Though the defenders held up well, the 11th Airborne Division maintained their aggression. Multiple waves of paratroopers were dropped, engaging the objective as they pushed forward. However, the grenades dealt only minor damage due to the defenders' pillboxes. Bombing runs from the 43rd Bombardment Group the following day proved lethal, taking out many defending personnel and giving the paratroopers the upper hand in their assault.
As night fell, air support missions became impossible, with bombers missing their objectives, leaving the paratroopers to engage alone and resulting in the loss of many personnel. As the sun rose and the paratroopers exhausted their manpower, fighters diverted from air superiority to ground support, constantly strafing and bombing the objective to pin down the defenders as the remaining paratroopers attempted to push up the mountain to gain control of the trenches. By noon, the remaining paratroopers were able to eliminate the last of the defenders, securing the objective.

However, once the enemy broke through their flanks, casualties escalated dramatically to 64. Skirmishes and firefights persisted for an hour, during which the paratroopers fell behind by 3 kills, with a score of 69 to 72. In a small engagement, they were able to even the score to 74-74. As personnel on the fallback prayed for a victory, their hopes were realized when the tie was broken, securing a hard-fought win for the paratroopers.

Bombing Raid on Japanese Factory in Hollandia, New Guinea
At 5 PM Eastern Time, the 43rd Bomb Group departed from Australia, escorted by two P-38s and two P-40Fs, heading towards Hollandia, New Guinea, to destroy a Japanese factory under construction intended to support its invasion of Australia. A quarter of the way into the Coral Sea, the bomber pilot lost consciousness (disconnected), but the co-pilot promptly assumed control and kept the aircraft flying. Midway through the Coral Sea, the formation came under attack by two Zeros. One P-38 was downed unexpectedly, but the second P-38 successfully shot down a Zero before being struck by its wreckage. The remaining Zero was pursued and shot down by a P-40F. A third Zero approached but was swiftly destroyed by the B-17E's tail gunner, with additional support fire from a P-40F. Once the objective was reached, bombs were dropped, effectively demolishing the factory and all its construction. Three more Zeros attempted to engage the B-17E on its return journey, but all were eliminated, unfortunately this resulted in the loss of a friendly P-40F. The pilot is reported missing in action in New Guinea.
During its return flight, the B-17E encountered a major issue that rendered the pilot unable to maintain the aircraft in flight, prompting all crew members to bail out and be subsequently rescued.

Black Saturday
The 43rd Bombardment Group escorted by the 8th Fighter group were tasked to bomb the Japanese Airfield on New Guinea. As they were preparing to take off, a surprise Japanese attack on Reid River occurred, fighters and interceptors of the 8th Fighter Group were quickly scrambled, losing 2 P-40s and 1 P-38 in a mid-air collision, and shooting down 4 Japanese Zeros. Japanese fighters kept on their attack, 1 B-17E stalled and crashed into the ocean, the remaining 2 bombers were damaged from the non-stop attack. On its way down, a Zero attempted to Kamikaze into a B-17 but it crumpled once it met the SUPERIOR PITTSBURGIAN STEEL, leaving no damage on the bomber. In the attack, 'Listen Here, Tojo' suffered the most, missing her 2 engines, but they pushed onto their target. On their flight, small air skirmishes continued, with no success to the Japanese as they were getting shot down consistently.
A small group of Zeros managed to chase the formation back to base, fighters were redirected to engage, but unfortunately, due to the sheer amount of bullets, one of the bomber was shot down in the cross-fire by the friendly P-40s. Only 1 parachute was seen. 'Listen Here, Tojo' was able to safely land with all her crews and the last of the Japanese squadrons taken out by the P-40s. 11th Airborne paratroopers were dropped in New Guinea and tasked with locating a village controlled by Japanese forces, it was quickly located and two B-17E of the 43rd Bombardment Group were scrambled with multiple fighters from the 8th Fighter Group as escort including the newly deployed P-38. One B-17 (Old 66/Lucy) left the formation and flew at a low altitude, two P-40 pilots caught the lone bomber and split off from the main formation to escort them. As Old 666 was constantly harassed by the enemy Zeros more planes from the 8th fighter split off from the formation to help, leaving Miss Carriage alone with only altitude as her safety. She took enough damage to smoke but luckily the Zero was chased off by friendly fighters who came to the rescue. 8th fighter suffered heavy losses trying to protect Old 666 from the constant swarm of Zeros.
With the help of the 11th Airborne personnel on the ground, Miss Carriage was able to drop all her bombs. Unfortunately Old 666 suffered too much damage and the crews were forced to bail. Luckily, the paratroopers witnessed the crash and went to recover all the crews with no losses.

Downed B25 Pilot Successfully Recovered By The 11th Airborne Division
The 11th Airborne Division successfully rescued a downed B25 pilot who had been stranded behind enemy lines for several days. Despite suffering from injuries sustained during the crash, the pilot managed to evade Japanese patrols for several days, relying on his survival training and sheer willpower to stay alive. It was only when he stumbled upon a small village that his luck began to change. Despite the risk of being caught by Japanese patrols, the villager and his family provided the pilot with food, shelter, and medical attention, keeping him hidden from prying eyes and making sure that he was well-cared for. After several tense hours, airborne personnel finally managed to locate the pilot and extracted him from the village, only after arguing with him that the pilot was ours.

Allied Forces Engage Japanese Invasion Forces In New Guinea
Intelligence reports indicate that the Japanese have launched an invasion of New Guinea, which is believed to be the beginning of a larger campaign to conquer Australia. With Australian forces still being transferred from the Mediterranean to the Southern Pacific, the Allies are currently at a disadvantage.
To slow down the Japanese invasion force, Allied forces have taken to the skies and bombed the area, with a squadron of B25s escorted by P40s. The objective was to take out as many supplies and landing crafts as possible and impede the construction of Japanese bases on the island.
The mission was not without cost, however. Despite the valiant efforts of the P40 squadron, all Allied bombers were shot down and one of the P40s collided with a Zero. The landing force suffered heavy losses, but the Allied forces were able to slow down the advance.
Reports indicate that one of the bomber pilots was able to successfully bail out, but the fate of the other aircrew is likely not the same. The Allies may conduct an airborne operation to search and rescue the missing pilot.
As the war in the Pacific continues to rage on, Allied forces are committed to pushing back against the Japanese invasion and securing victory. The success of this mission, despite the losses, is a testament to the bravery and determination of our Allied forces.

UNITED STATES ARMY AIR FORCES ENGAGE IN BATTLE AGAINST TITANS IN HICKAM FIELD
By Staff Writer for Stars and Stripes
Hickam Field, Hawaii, 1942 - The Army Air Forces stationed at Hickam Field have found themselves in an epic battle against Titans, towering creatures that seem to have emerged from the pages of mythology.
Reports coming in from the base suggest that the Titans are massive in size, with some standing as tall as buildings. Their skin is tough as steel, and they seem impervious to conventional weapons. Despite this, the brave men and women of the Army Air Forces are not backing down from this challenge.
"We may be facing a new enemy, but we are still soldiers," says Col. Tripp0005, a veteran pilot with over 500 hours of flight time. "We will do whatever it takes to protect our country and our fellow citizens."
The Army Air Forces stationed at Hickam Field have been working around the clock to develop new tactics and weapons that can take down these Titans. Some of the latest developments include transformers and experimental bombs that are designed to penetrate the creatures' thick hides.
The battle against the Titans has been a difficult one, but the Army Air Forces stationed at Hickam Field are making progress. A group of pilots managed to take down a Titan that had been terrorizing the area around the base. Although several planes were lost in the attack, the pilots managed to bring the creature down and prevent any further damage.
Despite the dangers involved, the men and women of the Army Air Forces stationed at Hickam Field remain committed to their mission. "We know that this is a war unlike any other," says a mechanic at the base. "But we also know that we have the best pilots and crews in the world, and we will do whatever it takes to protect our country and our fellow soldiers."
As the battle against the Titans ends, the brave soldiers stationed at Hickam Field fought with valor and determination, protecting their fellow citizens from this new and terrifying threat.
